Terms of Service

By accessing or using ChairHop (“the Platform”), operated by ChairHop (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

ChairHop is an online marketplace that connects independent hair stylists with salon owners who have available chairs for rent. The Platform facilitates discovery, booking, communication, and payment between these parties. ChairHop is not a salon, does not employ stylists, and does not own or operate any salon spaces.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts to use ChairHop. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@chairhop.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

For Stylists

• Provide accurate profile information including your qualifications and experience
• Honor confirmed bookings or cancel with reasonable notice
• Comply with all salon house rules posted by the salon owner
• Maintain appropriate professional licenses and insurance as required by your jurisdiction
• Leave the chair and workspace in the condition you found it

For Salon Owners

• Provide accurate information about your salon, including photos, amenities, and pricing
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional workspace
• Honor confirmed bookings and make the chair available as scheduled
• Comply with all applicable local business regulations and health codes
• Clearly communicate house rules and any insurance requirements

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information in your profile or listings
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Attempt to circumvent the Platform’s payment system to avoid fees
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform without our written consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform’s infrastructure or other users’ access
• Create multiple accounts for deceptive or fraudulent purposes

Bookings made through ChairHop are agreements between the stylist and the salon owner, facilitated by the Platform. ChairHop is not a party to these agreements.

Cancellation policies are set by individual salon owners and displayed on each listing. Users are responsible for reviewing cancellation terms before confirming a booking. Refund eligibility is determined by the applicable cancellation policy.

All payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By using ChairHop, you agree to Stripe’s terms of service. Salon owners receive payouts through Stripe Connect.

During early access, ChairHop charges zero platform fees. We will provide advance notice before introducing any fees or commission structure.

You are responsible for any applicable taxes related to your use of the Platform. ChairHop does not provide tax advice.

The ChairHop name, logo, and all associated branding, software, and content are the property of ChairHop and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks without written permission.

Content you upload to ChairHop (photos, descriptions, etc.) remains your property. By uploading content, you grant ChairHop a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Platform.

ChairHop provides the Platform “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChairHop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities.

ChairHop is not responsible for the conduct of any user, the condition of any salon, or the quality of any services provided between users of the Platform.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChairHop, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of ChairHop shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the English language.

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@chairhop.com or through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will remain in effect.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of ChairHop after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
